Alexandre Lesage Trio

Alexandre Lesage (pn) Wolf Van Gemert (cb) John Wolter (dms)

Alexandre Lesage is a passionate composer and pianist who revisits the works of great classical composers such as Rachmaninoff and Chopin as well as the repertoire of Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell. This group, founded in 2016 by three students from the Maastricht Conservatory, likes to play Cuban themes and pay tribute to the great trios in the history of jazz.
Their main objective is to improvise on structures influenced by a multitude of musical genres in order to create different contemporary colours. Between tradition, modernity and free improvisation, they stand out with a colourful music full of multiple influences.
