Every TaxiWars fan knows this moment, somewhere in the middle of the evening: Tom Barman moves discreetly to one side of the stage. Then Robin Verheyen, on soprano saxophone, unfurls his composition "Roscopaje", allowing him to freewheel with bassist Nic Thys and drummer Antoine Pierre.
The Verheyen-Thys-Pierre trio found themselves in Zabonprés in the Ardennes for one evening, on the occasion of an exceptional escapade. "Roscopaje" was on the program, along with other Robin Verheyen compositions, and forays into the repertoire of Thelonious Monk... in particular.
This magical evening could not remain without a follow-up. The idea of immortalizing it on record was an obvious one, and it's this record that the trio will be previewing at the festival in Salle Regina.
