FREE CONCERT

As well as being a musician, Brussels-based Adja is also a theatre-maker, a combination she expresses in what she describes herself as “sophisticated soul in a hybrid concert format”. More concretely, his music lies at the interface between soul, gospel and jazz. However, the artist wishes to give greater strength to the narrative character of his music through sensory additions such as smells and images. In this way, she attempts to depict her inner world and the feelings we all experience as expressively as possible.

In 2021, Adja was one of the winners of Soundtrack, the VI.BE and Club Circuit music competition. In collaboration with Alexis Nootens, his usual arranger, guitarist and life partner. This propelled her to the forefront of the music scene, and on February 24, she released her first EP, “IRONEYE”, on Sdban Ultra, the Belgian label that has added STUFF, John Ghost and TaxiWars to its roster. Adja is a super-talent, a “force of nature”, with a stage presence and warm voice reminiscent of artists like Erykah Badu, Solange and Lianne La Havas. Her sincere songs punctuate her path to self-discovery and spirituality. To support it live, she has a full band and backing singers, transforming the whole thing into a theatrical ceremony of reflection and connection. An experience not to be missed!
