Simon Comte

From Belgium to New York, Simon Comte plays the saxophone with remarkable ease and freedom. At just 21, he captivates audiences with his virtuosic, expressive playing and outstanding compositions. Everything seems to be falling into place for this precocious talent, already recognised several times by the American magazine DownBeat. Legendary sound engineer James Farber enthusiastically accepted the invitation to record his debut EP, due out on Flak Records on 6 November, while Joshua Redman has named him among the saxophonists to watch in 2027!

Simon Comte will perform at La Cité Miroir on Friday 28 May alongside three fellow musicians from New York’s Manhattan School of Music, where he has been studying since 2023: Brahm Sasner on piano, Chet Carlson on double bass and Kabelo Mokhatla on drums.
