*More info about Laurel & Hardy:
A COMEDIC DUO
Laurel and Hardy are undoubtedly the most popular comedic duo in the history of cinema. Before their collaboration began in 1927, each had already enjoyed a successful career, but it was as a duo that they secured their place in film history. Together, they became a sensation, producing no fewer than 106 short and feature films between 1927 and 1951.
SLAPSTICK
Laurel and Hardy were masters of slapstick comedy. In this genre, actors’ actions and movements are exaggerated to the extreme to create a comedic effect. The stories, often simple and absurd, focus entirely on the actors and their expressions. Other icons of this style include Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and the Marx Brothers.
Today, these three short films introduce us to the fascinating world of the mischievous and playful duo of Laurel and Hardy.
